Robert Nick Arredondo

When I was 12 I fell in love with sewing and fashion, and worked on learning everything I could about how clothes are made. Beginning in 1998, I collaborated on several runway shows, and in 2001 I decided to launch Arredondo Clothing as a solo designer. I created Arredondo Clothing to offer made-to-measure cocktail and evening wear, focusing on separates. Arredondo Clothing uses the made to order manufacturing method. This cuts back on supplies and inventory surplus by only making the pieces as they are ordered and paid for. A longer turnaround time is naturally part of this process, but customers seeking distinct items crafted by hand can count on quality pieces meant to last longer than a single season.

Instructional sewing content is everywhere, but Arredondo Clothing keeps the “why” of sewing top of mind. I am a new advocate for the slow fashion movement and working on understanding how current industry practices affect our world. Together we’ll find out how fashion and sewing enthusiasts can be more sustainable, including tips for extending the lives of our wardrobes. Whether you’re new to sewing or a seasoned expert, all sewists are welcome to participate and share what has worked for you.

In addition to sewist and maker, I’m also a music lover, documentary enthusiast, podcast addict, overthinker, and semantics devotee. We all have multiple layers of hobbies and interests, and I’ll share some of my personal anecdotes about how the relationship between fashion and pop-culture works into my everyday life.

If you love fashion, sewing, and pop-culture: stick around!

If you’re seeking Custom pieces to add to your closet: stick around!

If you work with textiles and want to focus on repairing, maintenance, and upcycling: stick around!
